Point Sur Lighthouse

Point Sur Lighthouse, also known as Point Sur Light Station, is less than ten miles from Big Sur Lodge and offers three-hour daytime guided walking tours as well as moonlight tours. Bringing your camera is encouraged. Learn more about Point Sur Lighthouse and tours.

The Homestead Cabin

Within Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, you can walk along Valley View Trail to see the Homestead Cabin. Built in the late 1800s, this historic cabin was home to John Pfeiffer, the original homesteader that the park was named after.

The Colonial Tree

The Colonial Tree, located in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, is the largest tree in the Park, measuring 31 feet in diameter. Also, you can see the “Old Grove of Redwoods” with redwood trees more than 800 to 900 years old.

The Cooper Cabin

The historic Cooper Cabin built in the 1860s is located in Molera State Park. You’ll also find a building that used to be a creamery for making Monterey Jack cheese.

Henry Miller Memorial Library
Just three miles from Big Sur Lodge is the Henry Miller Memorial Library. This library, art center, and bookstore was created in honor of the late writer, artist, and Big Sur resident Henry Miller. View ongoing activities.
