What is the difference between the Cottages and the lodge?

The lodge is where the front desk, store, restaurant are located. The cottages are up the hill and where the rooms are located.

Can I check-in early?

For early check-in, please contact the desk upon arrival. Based on availability we would be happy to work with you.

Is there Wi-Fi and/or decent cell service on the property?

Cell service is limited in the entire Big Sur area. Wi-Fi is located at the Big Sur Library.

What activities are in the area?

How do I get a State Park Pass?

A daily park pass is included in your room rate for [THREE PARKS] for the length of your stay. To obtain an annual California State Park Pass, refer to the California Department of Parks and Recreation website here: https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1049

Where is Big Sur?

Big Sur is located on the coast of Central California between San Luis Obispo and Monterey.

What restaurants are around the area?

Located within the State Park, at Big Sur Lodge, is The Homestead Restaurant and Espresso House. The Homestead restaurant provides delicious dishes while the Espresso House is available for quick grab-and-go snacks, specialty coffees and teas, hand-dipped ice cream, deli sandwich, and other tasty snacks.

What items are sold on the property?

Between the Gift Shop and the General Store there is an endless selection of unique souvenirs, keepsakes, apparel, grocery items, sundries, and camping supplies available.

When is the Nature Center open?

What is the pet policy?

In the Big Sur Lodge up to two dogs are accepted, for a fee, in the pet-friendly rooms. See the more in-depth pet policy here: https://www.bigsurlodge.com/accommodations/

The only trails dogs are allowed on are the Warden’s Path and the River path. They are also allowed in the day-use lots and campgrounds.
