1. Pfeiffer Big Sur Beach

This park is home to the locally famous McWay Falls, an 80-foot waterfall that empties directly into the Pacific Ocean. This and the ocean vistas visible from the front range of the St Lucia Mountains.
3. Limekiln State Park
This more remote state park is a hidden home to some of California’s most gorgeous redwoods and waterfalls. With history within the thick of the park, this is definitely a hike to be had.
4. Point Sur Lighthouse
If you’re looking for a lengthy walking tour to a beautiful destination this spot is definitely for you. Three hours of beautiful sights and scenery through old historic homes and buildings all the way to the Lighthouse.
5. Point Lobos State Reserve
This reserve is a beautiful park with hidden coves and no shortage of hiking trails. The wildlife here is worth the trip. Sea otters, sea lions, and seals all inhabit this gorgeous land along the coast.
6. Garrapata State Park and Beach
For a long walk on the beach kind of a day, this state park is sure to please. The sandy beaches and coastal hiking trails are the perfect spots for picnics, pictures, walking, or just downright relaxing.
7. Andrew Molera State Park
Where Big Sur River meets the Pacific Ocean beaches, bluffs, and headlands are waiting. The Creamery Meadow Trail is just a short 15-minute walk that gives you direct access to the beach.
8. Ventana Wildlife Society Discover Center
Learn about the history and ecology of the California Condor, which has come back from the brink of extinction due to a captive breeding program and is now flying free once more in the Big Sur wilderness.
9. Partington Cove
On an unmarked trail just off of the highway’s 38-mile markers lies Partington Cove. This is the perfect destination for ocean views to rest and a picnic lunch. The trail takes you to the ruins of the historic Tin House, built in the 1940s by the previous owners before the land was donated to the state park system.
