Esalen Institute

(15 miles south) Esalen Institute is a retreat center built around a natural hot sulfur spring, with a bathhouse perched on the cliffs above the ocean. While the property is generally closed to non-workshop participants, the baths are open late-night to the public from 1am-3am for a fee, and you must reserve in advance. Offsite massage clients may also use the baths to soak for 30 minutes prior to their appointment.
