The Redwood Patio is our most popular venue. The polished redwood bar, the river flowing by and the lush greenery create a welcoming backdrop. We recommend this area for events of 20-80 guests. The lovely Santa Lucia Room accommodates up to a maximum of 120 guests (including the outdoor patio). The Santa Lucia Room is located near our swimming pool, a photograph of which is shown here.

Our event team will send you menus and a questionnaire that helps us to better understand your vision. Together, we’ll design your perfect menu (according to your budget and tastes) and flow of the event from beginning to end.
In general, for your planning purposes, dinner event menus range in price from $60.00-$70.00 per person (excluding alcoholic beverages and applicable site fees). Breakfast and lunch events begin at $38.00 per person. We feature California wines beginning at $36.00 per bottle and special orders are welcome.

Big Sur Lodge welcomes beer and wine bars serviced by one of our bartenders. Billing for you bar is part of the customization of your event.
Due to licensing restrictions, Big Sur Lodge will provide all alcoholic beverages for your event.
Together we will create a menu when we first begin our planning. Since this is a creative process, we understand that your ideas may change as we plan. All menus need to be finalized at least a month before your event.
Plan on three to four hours for your rehearsal gathering, five hours for your wedding gathering and up to three hours for your brunch.
Check in starts at 4 pm. If you have a party planned at an earlier hour, we recommend that your guests book a room the night before so that they will have ample time to prepare for the event.
Yes absolutely! We have many ceremony locations and will explore those as part of our planning process.
In Pfeiffer State Park, with the Park’s input and permission, couples also have many options. We will work together with the Special Events Coordinator for California State Parks, Big Sur Sector if an in-park location is your preference.
Yes. An informal, barbeque and picnic-style rehearsal dinner catered by Big Sur Lodge can be held in one of the picturesque Pfeiffer State Park’s picnic venues. There is a site fee and application process with the State Park to reserve your selected location. Our Event Coordinator can show you these locations in person if you like.

Our Event Coordinator can recommend providers with expertise in each of these areas of service and who will deliver and/or service Big Sur for your event.
Of course, and but we would recommend that you coordinate your ideas with the Big Sur Lodge who will cater your event. If you need additional assistance with your decorating, our Event Coordinator can give you names of providers such as florists, or the Lodge can assist with your decorating for an additional fee.
The Big Sur Lodge does not charge a wedding cake cutting fee.
